In response to the recent terrorist attacks, LAHS held an impromptu assembly to remember those who lost their lives. School officials and student leaders began by offering prayers and giving speeches on the need for unity and tolerance. The rest of the assembly consisted of the school choirs singing patriotic songs. It was a very touching tribute.
Due to the emotional nature of the event, school administrators allowed students who didn't feel comfortable attending it to opt out, but I don't know of anyone that did. It seems everybody felt a sense of duty to be there.
