I guess the transition to 2000 didn't exactly go without a hitch as Dad just told us that the alarm system at his workplace had gone haywire. But from what we've heard, this was quickly fixed and didn't seem to cause any big problems. As a matter of fact, I haven't heard of any major incidents on the news that have been attributed to the rollover. In other words, no power grid failures, plane crashes, accidental missile launches, nuclear meltdowns or whatnot. I guess that's a good thing!
This begs the question: was the "Y2k bug" just a big hype? Or did the billions of dollars spent on preparing for the rollover pay off? You decide.
